After day care, Mom came home and said:
I talked to Denise this morning. But I don’t remember why.
Did you talk to her about staying at the nursing home?
Yes. That was it.
(Turning to Dad)
Would you mind if I lived at the nursing home?
No. I think you might like it.
I do too. I like being around other people.
I will miss you.
I can probably make some good friends. I’ll miss the day care people though.
I will miss you.
(To me)
Daughter, Denise told me to tell you to call her. She will help do this.
And she walked away.
Dad looked a little stunned. But then he gave me two thumbs up.

Just read your lasts posts. I've been busy and not checked in for awhile. You are on the right track. Placing my mom was the hardest thing I ever did, but it was the right decision. She is in a wonderful, caring, safe environment. You have done a wonderful thing taking care of your parents and you continue to do the right thing by finding the best care possible. Take care of yourself and remember God is with you! He is all that we need.
